He was predeceased by: his parents, John G. "Jack" Beckel and Stella Beckel (Thompson); his wife Janis; his siblings, Veronica Nelson, Bud Beckel, Richard Beckel, Dwain Beckel and David Beckel; and his brother-in-law James Steven Farnsworth.
He is survived by: his children, Susan Sathre (Thomas Fielding) of Austin, MN, Debra Dsouza of Austin, MN, Christine Hansen (Russel) of Baudette, MN and Thomas Beckel (Joyce) of Baudette, MN; his sister-in-law Anglia Farnsworth (James Steven) of Gwinn, MI.; and his grandchildren, Steven, Sarah, Jennifer, William, Michael, Marinda, Elaina, Katie and Kevin. He is also survived by nineteen great-grandchildren.
