He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Briese and Mary Briese (Fiedler); and his siblings, Ralph, Norman, Melvin, Roger and Bev Wendler.
He is survived by: his wife Kay Briese (Sunne) of Baudette, MN; his sister Millie Wiskow of Baudette; his brothers-in-law, Lyle Sunne (Karen) of Hermantown, Wayne Sunne (Mary) of Tucson, AZ and Joel Sunne (Kris) of Int; his daughters, Michelle Kauffman (Clark) of Dickinson, ND, Tara Nessa (Marshall) of Jinja and Uganda; his grandchildren, Alyssa Bushman (Fritz), Rachael Bushman (Zack), Eli Nessa (Alisabeth) and Veronica Nessa; and his great grandchildren, Cyrus, Dulcy, Sophia, Briella, Estelle and Joanna Bushman. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
