He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Halvorson and Martha Halvorson (Skogsal); his siblings, Marjorie, Boyd and Delores (John Scott); and his brother-in-law Fred Swanberg.
He is survived by: his sister Norma Swanberg; his sister-in-law Betty Halvorson; and his nieces and nephews, Randy Halvorson, Myron Halvorson (Lisa), Karen Cherne (Keith), Bonnie Gondrez (Walter), Kirk Scott (Dodie), Lyn Speckeen (Jim), Greg Swanberg (Beth), Mike Swanberg, Steve Swanberg (Rachel) and Laurie Shaw (Barry). He is also survived by great-great nieces and nephews and friends.
