He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Sr. Haagenson and Augusta Haagenson (Nelson); his wife Polly; his stepson Cal Sundheim; his sister Margaret Gunns; and his nephew Steven Lineburg.
He is survived by: his sisters, Nettie Pederson of Long Prairie, MN and Lillie Meyers (Glen) of Vining. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
