He is survived by: his wife Annette (Hanson); his children, Richard Hammitt (Karen-Marie) of Norway, Dean Hammitt (Kim Horton) of Barnum, Sandra Gentry (Peter) of Barnum and Sharon Skibicki of Oklee, MN.; his grandchildren, Olivia, Cecelia, Anna Hammitt, Clorece Hammitt (Ian Higby), Ava, Sophia Hammitt, Monica Eber (Fred), Emily Gentry and Jerome Skibicki; his great grandchild Ella Grace Penttinen Eber; and his siblings, Claudia Erickson, Nancy Sausman, Ardis Williams and Roger Hammitt. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
