He was predeceased by: his parents, Mathilda Johanna (Paulson) and John Arndt Heng; his former wife Claudia; and his siblings, Arndt, Elmer Gunn, Stanley, Raymond, Lloyd, Ethel Cody, Ellen Olson, Bertha Geschke (Bertie), Harriet Schmidt and Bernice Ernst.

He is survived by: his son Paul; his wife Henrietta Mann (Neubauer); his daughters, Debora Sapin (Neil) and Sara Fairfield (Scott); his grandson Noah Fairfield; his son Ethan Fairfield; his nephew David Heng (Tracy); his stepchildren, Larry (Holly), LeAnn Gregory (Dan) and Kevin Mann (Vicky); his sister-in-law Lavonne Heng; and his uncle Russ. He is also survived by many step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
