He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Butenhoff and Mathilda Butenhoff (Riedel); his wife Dorothy Taasaas; and his siblings, Melvin Butenhoff, Delores Young and Grace Kara.
He is survived by: his children, James Butenhoff (Jacklyn) of Ames, IA, Ruth Kava (Andy) of Barnesville, MN and Paul Butenhoff of Erhard, MN; his grandchildren, Jamie Butenhoff (Jennifer), Jolene Lowe, Jena Coons (Jaimeson), Amy Kava, Danny Kava (Teri), Emily Holmes (Josh) and Dillon Butenhoff (Tara); his great grandchildren, Zachary, Kaylee, Erica Butenhoff, Dakota Lowe, Declan Coons, Keaton Kava, Case, Caleb Kava, Allen, Dorothy Holmes and Ryder Butenhoff; and his brother George Butenhoff of Fairfield, MT.. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
