He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Thompson and Irene Thompson (Sunderland); his brother Wayne; and his nephews, Samuel and Jared Newland.
He is survived by: his wife Robbie Muckala; his daughter Stephanie (Byung Jun Jung) of Ulsan; and his siblings, Marc of Clermont, FL, Caryll Newland (Larry) of Northfield, MN and Brenda Fischer (David) of Northfield, MN. He is also survived by Nephews, nieces, uncle, cousins, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
