He was predeceased by: his parents, Mildred Yates (Armstrong) and William David Yates; his siblings, Bonnie, Peggy, Joylee and Jeanie; his siblings-in-law, Castle, Dennis Haaby, Gary Glennen, Richard Glennen, David Glennen and Gail Glennen; his parents-in-law, Clifford and Eileen Glennen; and his niece Ellen Smith.
He is survived by: his wife Marsha Glennen; his sons, Brian Yates (Karissa) of Perham, MN and William Yates (Megan) of West Fargo, ND; his grandchildren, Morgan Yates (Noah), Kiara Yates and Cash Yates; and his brother-in-law Jim Glennen (Rae). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
