He is survived by: his son Danny Howell; his wife Arlene; his grandchildren, Talysia Gunderson (Dana) of Roseau, Justin Howell (Sara) of Badger, Kristen Tyler (Quest) of Sauk Rapids, Lauren Howell of Fargo and Dillon Howell (Caitlin Wahl); his great grandchildren, Andrew John Gunderson of Roseau, Briggs Jenson of Badger, Easton Howell of Badger and Silas Howell; and also Justin Howell.
