He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Rustad and Dora Rustad (Torgerson); his sister Gloria Ruen; his daughter Susan Beth; and his sisters-in-law, Becky Rustad and Lesy Rustad.
He is survived by: his wife Gerry (Gerry); his daughter Laura Sayles (Chad); his granddaughters, Natalie Baier (Nick) and Emily Brown (Trent); his great grandchildren, Bennett and Chloe Baier; his brothers, Dale Rustad and Rick Rustad (Shirley); and his siblings-in-law, Charles Ruen, Carolyn Lienau (Monte), Gene Carlstrom (Jane Peterson), Rodney Carlstrom and Bruce Carlstrom (Liz). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Our Savior's Lutheran Church (1600 W Oakland Ave, Austin, MN 55912). A memorial service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor may be sent to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Austin; Hot Meals on Wheels, Austin; or donor's choice.
