She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Alvert Streyle and Lois Streyle (Huenemann); her husband Larry Thomas Butenhoff; her children, Kris Mayer (Perry) and Todd Butenhoff (Holly); her grandchildren, BriAnn Minnig (Kelvin), Cassidy Mayer, Tyler Butenhoff and Cody Butenhoff; her siblings, Jean Streyle, Phil Hunt, Marie Sundet (Waldemar), Dorothy Simonsen (Orville), Hildegard Radke, Elizabeth Urness (Kent), Ronald Streyle (Betsy), Bob Streyle and Evelyn Hunt; and her brother-in-law Jeff Radke. She was also cherished by numerous nieces and nephews.

Verona had requested for memorials to be given to the Arthritis Foundation in lieu of flowers.
