He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Schmidt and Alice Schmidt (Laabs); and his brothers, DeLmar and LeRoy Schmidt. He is survived by: his wife Gail Schmidt; his sons, Kevin Schmidt (Ilene) and Daniel Schmidt (Anne); his grandchildren, Chloe, Callie and Michael; his brother Roger Schmidt; and his close friends, Tom, Lois and Charley Fawver. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred and will be donated in Ray's honor.
