He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Winkels and Elizabeth Winkels (Teff). He is survived by: his wife Lorraine Winkels of Austin, MN; his children, Brian Winkels of Austin, MN, Stephen Winkels (Pam) of Wausau, WI and Jeanette Kressin (Peter) of Green Bay, WI; and his grandchildren, Allison, Laura, Hannah and Benjamin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hormel Institute for cancer research.
