He was predeceased by: his parents, George Whiteis and Sarah Ann Whiteis; his wife Ellen Kokenougles; and his sons, Paul and George.
He is survived by: his children, Suzanne Wilson of Austin, Martha Larsen (Tom) of Byron and Michael Whiteis (Marilyn) of Gettysburg; his grandchildren, Tom Wilson (Kari), Sarah Ball (John), Amy DeVries (Darin), Tammy Julius (Jeff), Melissa Bonnes (Matt), Robert Whiteis (Tami), Emily Hamilton (Ryan), Alex Whiteis (Emily), Jason Larsen (Sara) and Andrea Squier (Corey); and his daughter-in-law Margie Jacobson. He is also survived by 18 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren.
