He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Simonson and Dorothy Simonson (Groby); his daughter Michelle Lee Gawienowski; and his granddaughter Abigail Gawienowski. He is survived by: his wife Georgiann Simonson of Austin, Minnesota; his daughter Terri-Ann Simonson of Austin, Minnesota; his son-in-law Peter Gawienowski of Burnsville, Minnesota; his grandson Luke Gawienowski of Burnsville, Minnesota; his sister Karen Stern (Charles) of Wilmar, Minnesota; his nieces, Jennifer Thoreson (Robert) and Susan Chapin (David); and his nephew Chuck Stern (Christy). He is also survived by six great-nieces; one great-nephew; and one great-great-niece.
Memorials are preferred to Mayo Clinic Hospice in Austin, Operation Blessing, Westminster Presbyterian Church, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
