She was predeceased by: her parents, Orville Hanson and Irene Hanson (Hesby); her husband Henry "Hank" Cheney; her siblings, Ordell Hanson, Curtis Hanson (Marcella), Dennis Hanson and Norma Johnson (Willard); her siblings-in-law, Grant Selness, Freeman Welch and Charlotte Wilson; and her stepsister Ann Durst.
She is survived by: her son Michael Cheney of Austin; her siblings, Ione Selness of Spring Grove, Alan Hanson (Becky) of Rushford and Dale Hanson (Carol) of St. Charles; her sister-in-law Janice Welch of Rochester; and her stepsiblings, Russ Wilson of Hoover and A. G. III Wilson (Audrey) of Gilette, Wyoming. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorials preferred to Scheie Lutheran Church in Mabel, Minnesota, or Brownsdale United Methodist Church.
