We are sad to announce that on November 11, 2023, at the age of 92, Janet Julia Karthaus (Austin, Minnesota), born in Wahpeton, North Dakota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Blonigan and Susan Blonigan; her husband John Karthaus (Jack); her son Christopher; her granddaughter Christine; and her siblings, Ann Doering and Charles Blonigan.
She is survived by: her children, Susan Nystrom (Tom), Debra Kahnke (Dan) and John Karthaus, Jr. (Caroline); her grandchildren, Angela Bernier (Paul), Brigitte Wilkins (Shawn), Jeffery Kahnke (Christine), Kirsten Nystrom, Ryan Kahnke, Alex Kahnke (Miranda), Breanna Schofield and Eleanor Karthaus; and her sister Beverly Sundahl (Robert). She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Memorials are preferred to the Hormel Institute in Austin, Minnesota for research into Cockayne Syndrome.
