He was predeceased by: his parents, Edmund E. Smith and Maxiene J. Smith; his wife Paula Smith; his nephew Kurt McDowell; his nieces, Jeanna Elston and Hannah Goldstein; and his parents-in-law, Merle Horswell and Rose Huse.
He is survived by: his son Morgan Smith (Ann Tran); his grandson Odin Smith of Robbinsdale, MN; his daughter Sloan Miller (Michael); his granddaughters, Sydney, Allison and Madelyn Miller of Janesville, WI; and his siblings, Michael Smith (Christine) of Rochester, MN, Mary Ellen Daniel (Myron) of Charles City, IA, Colleen (Jack), Kimberly Smith (Cindy) of Pickerington, OH, Teresa Rajkowski (Joe) of Stanchfield, MN, Danielle Heiny (Bruce) of Austin, MN, Christopher Smith (Mara) of Rochester, MN and Gabrielle Smith (Julie Doherty) of Minneapolis, MN. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and brothers- and sisters-in-law.
