He was predeceased by: his parents, Harlan Lerud and Agnes Lerud (Lysne); his great-niece Isabella "Bella" Brandt; his brother Michael Lerud; and his sister-in-law Trudy Lerud.
He is survived by: his significant other Rose Nelson of Austin, Minnesota; his brothers, Gary Lerud of Albert Lea, Wayne Lerud of Austin and Tim Lerud (Joni) of Austin, Minnesota; his nieces and nephews, Leonda Lerud (Randy Tovar), Lisa Sutter (Darry), Emily Hardison, Leslie Lerud and Darrin Lerud (Francine); his sister-in-law Victoria Sparks Lerud; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, LaTia, Leland Childers, Dawson, Jackson Holland (US Navy), Meadow, Lauren Sutter and Holden Londino-Green.
