He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert VanDenover and Shirley VanDenover (Earl); his sister Carol Betschart (Pat); and his parents-in-law, George and Tena Lembrick.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Lembrick; his children, Michael VanDenover (Rose) of Blaine, Jane Wagner (Paul) of Austin, Robert VanDenover (Terri) of Sioux Falls and Chris VanDenover (Tony Roberts) of Lime Springs, Iowa; his grandchildren, Tiffany (Kayle), Sarah, Blayne, Paul II, David (Tracy), Isaiah, Heather, Justine (Aaron) and Laura; his close friends, Ross and Ruth Chamberlain; and also, Kyle and Cody. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

“Dear Family: Ron & I have known Dale & your Mom for many years. My family (Kathy Ofstedahl) moved to Austin from Brownsdale in 1963 & I do believe it was very soon after that we met your parents. We loved both of your parents originally getting to know them at Fellowship Methodist Church. It is very clear that your parents truly loved each other and that parenting was one of their most precious gifts. Jesus was their source. Our sympathy to each of U. Ron & Kathy Howard”
