He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Arett and Betty Arett (Chinander); his son Christopher Arett; his close friend Junjiro Tsuji; his former wife Diane Arett; his sister Cheryl Arett; and his brother-in-law Gary Pepper.
He is survived by: his wife Diane Weis; his sons, Bradley (Barbra Arett), Andrew Arett of Moose Lake, MN and John (Tiffany Arett); his grandchildren, Brett Newell, Joshua Rasmussen, Ashley Rasmussen, Edward Arett, Elizabeth Arett, Taylor Arett, Isaiah Clennon, Kaitlin Arett, Mikayla Arett, Jett Arett and Magnolia Arett; his great grandchildren, Maison and Jamiah Benson; his sisters, Gayle (Howard Oldenkamp), Rea (Mark Gotz), Dee (Steve Sebesta), Lee (Dale Wicks), Rita (Curtis Srock) and Ellen (Kenny Hoefker); and his aunts, Jan Valek (Glenn) and Margo Arett. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
