He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl P. Hanson and Mildred Hanson (Kraus); his son Chad Hanson; his brothers, Richard Hanson, Russell Hanson and Charles Hanson; and his sister-in-law Karen Hanson.

He is survived by: his wife Karin Hanson of Austin, MN; his daughter Rachel Hanson of LeRoy, MN; his grandson Chad Johnson of Austin, MN; his brother Don Hanson (Christa) of Central Point, OR; and his sisters-in-law, Peggy Hanson of Yuma, AZ and Pat Hanson of Winona, MN. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and other relatives and friends.
