He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Lakela and Mayme Lakela (Vietanen); and his sisters, Ruth and Shirley. He is survived by: his wife Dorothy Trygstad; his children, Jeffery Lakela and Carol Jane Miner (Michael); his grandchildren, Michael, Michelle, Jennifer and Jonathan; and his sisters, Delores Anderson of Hudson, WI and Margie Craft of Park Rapids. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
