With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ruth Ann Clara Ecklund of Askov, Minnesota, born in Hinckley, Minnesota, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on December 25, 2024 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, George Gimpl and Anna Gimpl; and her siblings, Pearl, Richard and Arnold.

She is survived by: her husband John Ecklund (Hinckley) of Happy's Dance Hall; her children, Michelle Olson (Paul), Dan Ecklund (Leah Dietrich), David Ecklund (Dennis Bickham) and Erik Ecklund (Katie); her brothers, Clarence and Eugene; her grandchildren, Andrew, Dana, Michael, Allison, Lauren, Daniel, Milo and Dax; and her great grandchild Morgan.

“Ruth Ann was a favored aunt of mine who loved life. I will cherish time spent with her and her fun-loving ways, and especially the summer I was sixteen and spent time at the Ecklund farm. In more recent years my husband, Curt, and I were able to spend time with John and Ruth Ann, as well as Uncle and Aunt, Gene and Liz Gimpl, in Arizona. She will be missed by so many. Just the thought of her puts a smile on my face. Our Deepest Sympathies to her family, Love, Gege and Curt Abraham”
