Orlin R. Pieschke Obituary
Orlin Roland Pieschke was born on May 10, 1936, in Glencoe, Minnesota. He was the son of Edward and Rosie (Weishert) Pieschke. Orlin was baptized as an infant on May 31, 1936, and was later confirmed in is faith as a youth on April 2, 1950, both at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Auburn. He received his education at country school in New Auburn Township.
Orlin's family moved to the current farm in 1950. Orlin farmed there until his retirement in 2012, and was honored to receive the Century Farm Award, with the farm in his family since 1909. He enjoyed raising crops and took pride in his spotless fields. On February 10, 1959, Orlin entered active military service and served in the United States Army in Germany as a Supply Handler.
He achieved the rank of Private First Class. Orlin was Honorably Discharged on January 31, 1965. Orlin was an active lifelong member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Auburn and served on many boards and various positions on the church council. In his free time, Orlin enjoyed attending Farmfest, old time threshing shows, parades and the Le Sueur Pioneer Power Days, often attending all three days.
Orlin was a huge animal lover, enjoyed kids, and liked to celebrate with family and his many friends. When he needed assistance with his daily care, Orlin became a resident of Oak Terrace Health Care Center in Gaylord and passed away there on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at the age of 84 years. Blessed be his memory. Orlin is survived by: his faithful dog, Butch, Aunts, many cousins and friends.
Orlin was preceded in death by his Parents, Edward and Rosie Pieschke; Aunts; Uncles and other relatives.
