He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Kemp and Minnie Kemp (McNamara); his wife Virginia "Ginger" Tell; and his children, Tim and Nicole.

He is survived by: his children, Mike Kemp (Jo Ann) of Sauk Rapids, MN, Cyndi Stifter of Monticello, MN, Mark Kemp (Karen) of Apple Valley, MN, Therese Kemp (Bill Cohoe) of Carver, MN, Kate Phillips (Jody) of Roseville, MN, Margo Kemp Johnson (Bart Johnson) of St. Paul, MN, Geri Nipp (Brian) of Seward, Alaska, Jeff Kemp of St. Cloud, MN, Jason Kemp (Briana Seidel) of Little Canada, MN and Chris Kemp (Jessi) of Minneapolis, MN; his son-in-law Joe Prinzivalli of Ft. Collins; his grandchildren, Abby Kemp, Kenny Kemp, Eric Stifter, Mandi Kiesling (Tom), Rick Stifter (Casondra), Tim Kemp (Josie), Ben Kemp, Otto Nipp, Leo Nipp, Etta Prinzivalli and Nina Prinzivalli; his great grandchildren, Oliver, Virginia Kiesling, Lydia and Grayson Stifter; and his siblings, Muriel O'Neill of Le Sueur, MN and Bill Kemp (Thelma) of Gaylord, MN..
