He was predeceased by: his wife Cheryl Berg; and his sister Phyllis Roxie Damon-Mulazzi. He is survived by: his close friend Ellen Christofferson; his stepchildren, Eric Christofferson and Kari Smith; and his siblings, Jeane Marie Rodriguez, Sandra Mae Deneault-McNitt, Jennifer O'Hara Damon, Joseph Valiant Damon and William Leslie Damon.
Along with regularly donating to multiple animal shelters, he also gave to organizations such as Braill Books for Blind Children, US Department Sheriffs Association, and The American Heart Association.
