He is survived by: his former wife Sonya Wegan; his children, Joseph Leroy Fisher, Michael Dean Vermillion and Diane Marie Vermillion; his wife Jewell Fisher; and his stepdaughter Diane Sachs.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Melvyn's name to Hope Church.
