She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Olheiser and Eugenia Olheiser; her husband Kasper Messer; her son Adam; her grandsons, Benjamin Stewart, Daniel Nierenhausen and Chance Messer; and her siblings, John, Mike, Nick, Otillia, Agnes, Rose, Leo, Adam, Anna and Pauline.
She is survived by: her children, Lucy, Marjean (Bill), John (Pat), Doug (Cindy), Hank, Roger, Elaine (David), Mell (Jaci), Dorene, Kasper, Jr. (Julie), Randy (Jane), Donalda, Patricia, Eric and Mark. She is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
