He was predeceased by: his parents, Norris Smith and Marion Smith. He is survived by: his wife Una Rae (Thune); his children, Nathan Smith (Deb Zurcher), Anna (Corey Johnson) and Paul (Katie Smith); his grandchildren, Lillie (Sam), Sawyer, Emma, Carter (Mimi), Devon, Kyle, Taylor, Brandon, Bailey (Laura), Connor, Kylie and Abby; and his brothers, Mark (Joc) and Tim Smith.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift may be made to Northgate church in Ramsey, MN.
