Roth Tall wrote a sympathy message

“Dear Linda, Brenda, Kellie, Laurie and John, While doing research on Korea, I found that "Franz" had died last fall so my apologies for the tardiness of this note and only hope that it reaches you. I had the honor of being his commanding officer at Camp St. Barbara with the 6th Battalion, 12th Artillery in 1967. We spent many hours together doing reconnaissance along the DMZ. Few men stood out as much as he. Even fewer were as reliable and trustworthy. My deepest sympathies. LT R W Tall”
