He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Hustvedt and Clara Hustvedt; and his wife Alice. He is survived by: his sons, Jim (Melissa), Joe, Jeff Borchert (Ilga) and John Borchert (Harmony); and his grandchildren, Andrew, John, Roger, Samantha, Aimee, Lauryn, Kayla, Riley and Hunter.

In lieu of flowers memorials preferred to the American Cancer Society in Jim & Alice's names.
