He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Halberg and Anna Halberg; his brothers, Harold and Dean; his daughter Jan Evans; and his grandchildren, Mark Evans, Jordan Halberg and Laura Evans.

He is survived by: his wife Shirley; his son Sheldon Halberg (Kim); his son-in-law Douglas Evans; his grandsons, Carl (Janna), Peter Halberg (Sarah), Mike (Terese) and Matt Evans (Kelly); and his great grandchildren, Peyton, Emmett Halberg, Kaleb Evans and Oliviana Halberg.
