He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Hermes and Hazel Hermes (Goodno); his wife Shirley A. Leukuma; his daughter Susan; his brother Wayne; and his stepbrother Gary.
He is survived by: his children, Kathy Hermes of Duluth, Brian Hermes of Annandale and Sheila Hoernemann (Bruce) of Ortonville; his grandchildren, Rachel, Jacob Hoernemann, Andrew, Nicholas and Carlie Hermes; his close friend Lila Paumen; and his pet Trooper. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
