She was predeceased by: her parents, George Harold Smith and Lucy Smith (Juenemann); her spouse Brainerd Glenn Cherry; her sisters, Iris "Skip" Ramey (Wayne) and Audrey Jensen (Fred); her stepmother Helen Smith (Sommers); her granddaughter Nicole Cherry; and her brothers-in-law, Dick Nelson and Maurie Ellison.
She is survived by: her children, Jim (Diane) of Long Prairie, Tom (Nita) of Annandale, Leigh of Mankato and Kay LaValley (George) of Superior, WI; and her sisters, Dolores Nelson, Joanne Ellison, Jean Krause (Dave) and Ellen Smith. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren.
