He was predeceased by: his father Lewis Garin; his son Mark; his mother Vera Mitchell (Mitchell); and his siblings, Marvin, Donald Garin and Ila Norberg.
He is survived by: his wife Margaret "Maggie"; his children, David (Diana), Robert (Christine) and Cynthia Graham (Mark); and his sisters, Alice Johnson (Richard) and Jeanette Almgren (Dave). He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
