He is survived by: his daughters, Kirstin Schmitz (Tom) and Amy Blank (Todd); his grandchildren, Bradley Schmitz, Zachary Schmitz (Vanessa), Christopher Schmitz, Erin Zimmer (Alex) and Brian Blank (Kayla); and his great grandchildren, Madelyn, Hendrik and Sophia Schmitz.
