He was predeceased by: his parents, Mark Govednik and Tyyne Govednik (Salo); his wife Georgia Ann; his grandchildren, Zachary and Sarah; his sons, Dennis and Stephen; and his brothers, Peter, Mark and Glenn.

He is survived by: his children, James Govednik (Sonja), Christine Galloup (Curt), Sue Anderson, Renee Galvin (Bill), Vickie Stotler-Smith (Thomas) and Kristi Govednik; and his grandchildren, Abbie, Owen, Josh, Kyle, Heather, Matthew, Amanda, Jacob, Stephanie and Jessica. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
