He was predeceased by: his wife Patti; and his siblings, Peggy Chisholm and Bill Stewart. He is survived by: his children, Tim Stewart (Kathleen), Maggie Weinkauf and Pat Stewart; his grandchildren, Greta Scofield (Nate), Ben Weinkauf and Will Weinkauf; his siblings, George Stewart (Kaky), Kate Stewart, Pat Winkle (Denny) and Ruth "Candy" Tripp (David); and his sister-in-law Deb Stewart (Cathy Stewart).
