He was predeceased by: his parents, George Klimek and Ida Klimek (Thoennes); his son Keith Klimek; his grandson Matthew Klimek; his granddaughter-in-law Shana Zins; his great grandchildren, Savanna Miller, Boe Zins and Richie Zins; his sister Jean DeMartelaere; his son-in-law Michael Zins; and his siblings-in-law, Ardis Schmidt, Karen Schjei, Doreen Schjei, Hubert DeMartelaere, Irving Lorenz, Kenneth Schjei, Orvin Schjei, Orris Schjei and Clayton Schjei.
He is survived by: his wife Ardell Schjei; his children, Bill Klimek (Denice) of Osakis, Larry Klimek (Carol) of Elk River, Dave Klimek (Leeann) of St. Cloud, Duane Klimek (Michelle) of Alexandria, Paul Klimek (Christin) of Alexandria, Debra Nelson (Terry) of Glenwood, Kimberly Zins (Richard) of Glenwood and Pamela Matthiesen (Larry) of St. Augusta; his siblings, Romie Klimek (Arlene) of Glenwood, Jerry Klimek (Joyce) of Osakis, Richard Klimek (Shirley) of Garfield and Darlene Johnson (Kenneth) of Alexandria; and his sisters-in-law, Avis Lorenz and Judy Schjei. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; along with many nieces, nephews.
