He is survived by: his wife Gwendolyn Fay Harrison; his children, James Nelson of Breckenridge and Melissa Nelson of Alexandria; his granddaughter Mercedes Nelson of Wahpeton; his sister ViAnn Sperry (Michael) of Olympia, Washington; and his nieces and nephews, Laura Wendler (Willy), Brian Harrison (Lori), Lars Nelson, Eric Nelson, Lynn Nelson, Christian Nelson, Heather Trollinger and Thomas Nelson.
