It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joan Irene Abers of Alexandria, Minnesota, who passed away on November 10, 2023, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her daughter Jackie Amundson; her granddaughter Cagney Reve'Reis; her parents, Julian Lomheim and Lorraine Lomheim; her parents-in-law, Calvin and Marguerite Abers Sr.; and her brother-in-law Artie Jaros.

She is survived by: her husband James "Jim" Abers; her daughters, Tammy Reis (Paul) and Gwinette Cowan; her grandchildren, Wesley Reis (Lindsay), Cole Reis (Kyla), Alexia Menth (Mike), Taylor Amundson, Grant Cowan and Taya Cowan; her great grandchildren, Wyatt, Caleb, Ryder and Violet; her sister Carol Jaros; and her siblings-in-law, Tonoa Herrebrugh-Abers (Robert), Calvin Abers Jr. (Joyce) and Charles "Chuck" Abers (Janie). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
