He was predeceased by: his parents, Marion Vanderby and Helen Vanderby (Schnetzer); his wife Dona Vanderby of People's Café; his grandson Jeremy Gettel; his daughter-in-law Bernice Vanderby; and his brother-in-law David Barie.
He is survived by: his children, Terry Vanderby (Denise) of Glenwood, Tammy Gettel (Larry) of Osakis and Tanya Hagen (Dane) of Alexandria; his grandchildren, Nathan Vanderby (Andreea), Travis Vanderby (Bailey), Tyler Vanderby (Megan), Jeffrey Soupir, Jocelyn Gettel (Wade Bergerud), Evan Gettel, Lexi Hagen (Trevor Olafson) and Mariah Hagen; his great grandchildren, Nicholas, William, Bryson, Case, Ava, Declan, Jane, Easton and Brynlee; his sisters, Elaine Alberg (Russ) and Joyce Friedrich (Ted); and his siblings-in-law, Dennis Barie (Judy Klemm) and Joan Barie. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 25th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory (659 Voyager Dr, Alexandria, MN 56308). A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Wednesday, February 26th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at the Nelson Cemetery.
