He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur and Mabel (Nassan); his wife Mary; his siblings, Bernard Behrends, Delores Niebuhr, Rosalin Behrends and Sylvia Sorensen (Richard); and his brother-in-law Kinsler Grube.
He is survived by: his mother-in-law Mary Jane Lockrem; his sons, Joseph Behrends (Lisa) of Wichita, KS and Philip Behrends; his grandchildren, Josephine, Mark, Carolyn, Rosemary and Elaina; and his sister Jean Grube.
