He was predeceased by: his parents, William P. Sturtz and Gladys Sturtz (Rosenberg); his wife Helen Schlotter; his son Dr. Richard Sturtz; his siblings, Alice Kuehl (Elmer) and John P. Sturtz; and his nephew Donald.
He is survived by: his sons, William David Sturtz (Anita) of Gold Hill, CO, Robert D. Sturtz (Lisa) of Albert Lea, MN and John F. Sturtz (Cyndi) of Stillwater, MN.; his grandchildren, William Matthew Sturtz (Julie), Tamara Sturtz, Elizabeth Ogletree (Sky), Rachael Garcia (Joshua), Anna M. Sturtz (Brad Wagner), William Evan Sturtz (Katie), Jack M. Sturtz (Morgan Stadheim), Aurora Sidell and Marielle Sidell (Ian); his great grandchildren, Brooke Sturtz, Molly Sturtz, William Emmet Sturtz, Collin Garcia, Calvin Ogletree, Elanor Ogletree, Penelope Ogletree and Esme Morlock-Sidell; his sister-in-law Bonnie Sturtz; and his daughters, Mary Zetterlund (Kris) and Danielle Bure (Damien). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
