He is survived by: his wife Betty M. Christiansen; his children, Tonya, Michael, Lieutenant Colonel, Lynette Hartmann (Tony), Tammy Sime and Dawn Beckmann (Theo); his grandchildren, Stephen, Christopher Reineke, Kristina, Jacquelyn Hartmann, Katherine, Crystal Sime, Aidan, Jade and Morgan Beckmann; his siblings, Warren Sime, John Sime (Joan) and Nadine Suby (Allen); and his sister-in-law Linda Crofton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
