She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Lane and Margretta Lane (Ryan); her husband Arthur; her daughter Sarah Gutknecht; and her sister Betty Schrock.

She is survived by: her son Scott Gutknecht (Joni) of Merrifield, MN; her granddaughters, Megan Greengard (Thor) and Erin; her children, Anne Schreck (Mike) of Cedar Falls, IA, Anthony, Alexander, Caitlin Faris (Adam), Lisa, Julie Savelkoul (Don) of Albert Lea, MN, Hannah, Michael, Amy Nelson (Steve) of Rochester, MN, Emily, Clare and Samuel; her siblings, Mike Lane (Mary) of Knoxville, IA, Tim Lane of Des Moines, IA and Pat Cain (Jim) of Waterloo, IA.; and also Dr. Ann Kools of Minneapolis, MN.
