He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Tavis and Cleo Tavis (Beaver); his son Gary Tavis; his grandson Austun Tavis; and his brothers-in-law, Bill Malepsy and Terry Jenson (Charlene).
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis; his daughter Kay McCall (Scott); his daughter-in-law Joy Tavis; his grandchildren, Amber Kline (Randy), Aaryn Forst (Neal), Cali Maxfield (Bryan), Cory Fautsch (Amber) and Casi Joy Lankford (Bryan); his great grandchildren, Adrian, Arik Kline, Mason, Monty, June Forst, Lilly, Lincoln Maxfield, Savannah, Skylin and Marley Fautsch; and his sisters-in-law, JoAnn Malepsy (Jim), Elaine Porter (Loren), Lorraine Malepsy and Sharon Hobin (Geoff). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
