He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Hamborg and Selma Hamborg (Hovland); his siblings, Mabel Weckwerth (Bernard), Norris Hamborg (Shirley), Gladys Hamborg, Roy Hamborg (Dorothy) and Dorothy Kermes (George); and his brothers-in-law, Lloyd Adams and Roy Moldenhauer.
He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Strehlo; his children, Daphne Hamborg of Albert Lea, Roland (Amy Hamborg) of Prescott, WI and Joan Vanderploeg (Rick) of Albert Lea; his grandchildren, Ben Hamborg (Andrea) of Plymouth, MN, Dr. Josh Heaton (Katie) of St. Paul, MN, Joe Hamborg of Decorah, IA, Tessa Hamborg of Florida and Jay Vanderploeg (Katie) of Rincon, Georgia; and his sisters-in-law, Genevieve Adams and Jule Moldenhauer. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
